Debbie has 29 years Incentive industry experience! She’s worked for some of the top Incentive and Performance Improvement companies in South Africa and the UK, and she’s currently Secretary for the MEA Chapter of IMA.

  • Co-founder of the Global non-profit organisation: Women in Incentives Network
  • President of the Global Incentive Council 2013 to 2015 – the first African to have the privilege

What's the most inspiring part of your job?

Without a doubt, recognising and bringing happiness to people who go above and beyond their call of duty. What I do is meaningful and positive, and that brings value and joy to my life.

In another life, I'm pretty sure I was a

bear. Eating 40 kilos a day and then sleeping for 7 months sounds like something I might have done. And enjoyed.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is

that a person’s character is more important than anything else they are.

If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve

snow.

Have a willing spirit. Skills can be learned, but a good attitude is paramount.

Working for a boss lady and with colleagues who are passionate about what they do. We take our work seriously but enjoy ourselves while we are at it!

a magpie. I’m drawn to pretty, shiny things but being a wannabe minimalist, I don’t have to have them – just love to marvel.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is

from my dad who always said that if you can find the joy in the mundane, ordinary, every-day life – you will always be happy.

If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve

exploring new (to me) cities and towns, particularly old buildings and soaking up the history – or cruising (pure relaxation).
